Data centre floor refurbishment case study
This data centre that suffered severe Water damage caused a frozen burst pipe on the floors above.
The floor panels had become swollen and the surface covering was delaminating causing a serious trip hazard.
The entire operation was carried in two separate visits whilst the facility was live.
The original floor was installed in the early 1970’s. This was a substantial system with an integral steel ‘Gridlock’ frame fixed to the base of the panel, that located into the slots in the castleated pedestal heads supported by a steel threaded stud and screw fixed base.
The pedestal support system was unaffected by water damage and still serviceable. The production of a replica replacement panel was initially considered.
The concrete sub-floor was open with no dust inhibitor.
